February 3, 2014 - Superbowl Sunrise

The town appreciated some overdue rain after morning clouds foreshadowed the imminent precipitation. Early sun lit up the clouds showing what was to come.

In local news, Roger reported an assault with a deadly weapon, former Santa Barbara International Film Festival Tribute Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away at 46, and subscribers tracked rain clouds on weather radar. Read these stories and more below.

SBIFF: Oscar winner and former Santa Barbara International Film Festival Tribute Philip Seymour Hoffman, 46, has died.

SBIFF: The Dedicated Staff sat down with the filmmakers of Invitation To Dance. The film highlights a wheelchair-riding social activist and disabled artists.

SBIFF: Cate Blanchett was honored with the Outstanding Performer of the Year Award at Santa Barbara's International Film Festival on Saturday night.
