Unless a veterinarian has told you your dog can't be anesthetized, you are taking a big risk going this route. Rotted teeth, gum disease, and the release of bacteria when plaque is scraped all pose a serious larger health risk. Plus, the obvious, the teeth won't possibly be cleaned as well, thus insuring hastened too the decay and gum disease....both painful and certain to lead to weight loss and earlier death.

I have always given my dogs Oxyfresh Pet Hygiene Solution. My last 3 dogs have lived long lives and never once needed to have their teeth cleaned. Our vet has always said "Maybe next time"..with a smile. Check with your vet! Little Dog House with do a great job if they are really built up. Then start the program. A cap full in 24oz bottle of water...just poor into water bowl and they are protected!

Both are dogs had lots of tarter and the vet recommended dental cleaning to the tune of 800.00 per dog.We tried the 2'' raw bones from Lemos instead and our dogs teeth look great!! 10 per bag

I don't blame you for not wanting anesthesia. I had a friend whose dog died from having it for something extremely simple. Most at risk are flat nosed dogs, like pugs.

Dental cleanings are great profit center for most clinics. Our 7 lb Abby almost died on the table because they over-anaesthetized her- they had to do CPR to bring her back.

Our dogs love to chew on sticks, bones, and rawhides, and their teeth look pretty good. Maybe that will save some $.
