February 2, 2014 - Film Festival & SuperGroundhog Day

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival has taken over our little blue town by the big blue sea. The Dedicated Staff has been working late into the evening to provide full coverage of festival activities for our loyal edhat subscribers. So far we have seen David O. Russell, Cate Blanchett, Melissa Leo, Frances Fisher, and a plethora of indie actors and film makers. There is still more to come! Who are you excited to see come to Santa Barbara? There is so much going on this year: films, celebrities, panels, parties. What is your favorite aspect of the film festival? Ed isn't shy around the glitz and glamour but says his favorite part of the film festival is watching the locals enjoy the variety of films, and he also loves to take photos at all the events.

In addition the local festivities, today is the SuperBowl and Groundhog Day. A lot is going on! The Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos will go head to head in New Jersey. We know that one edhatter is cheering for the Seahawks due to their recent hair cut but we're curious who the majority of Santa Barbaran's are rooting for. Additionally today is also Groundhog Day, minus Bill Murray. Here in Santa Barbara we have yet to experience a winter so we're hoping for rain! Although I'm sure the east coast would beg to differ. Ed feels that in this circumstance he's both a celebrity in an emergency, to quote his favorite film.

Our Cat of the Week is Buster, an eight-year-old explorer. Our Dog of the Week is Cali, a dancing machine. Our Non-Profit of the Week is The Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum who provides a wonderful learning environment for our youth.
