Police Activity Near Dos Pueblos
updated: Jan 30, 2014, 1:45 PM

By Edhat Subscriber

Yesterday (Wednesday Jan. 29) around 6PM there were a three Sherif'fs cars parked in front of a house at the corner of Cathedral Oaks and Alameda - across the street from Dos Pueblos High. Uniformed officers were taking things out of the house and putting them into I believe a white van that was unmarked - perhaps evidence? Anybody know what was going on? Thanks - I live in the neighborhood.

Please let us know what you find out. If I'm not wrong, there was some recent action there as a result of a new owner. Remember that house was where the old fuselage of an airplane was removed? I've heard other stories about it belonging to someone who had all sorts of off beat things there behind the over grown foliage. If you look up the house it's value is way up there. Not what you would expect to find in the area, and across the street from the high school. That being said I am looking forward to see how many people will take my response and tear it apart. It is unfortunate that it has gotten down to people sitting around and making snarky comments about other people's posts. So, fire away!

What's wrong with having an airplane in your backyard??? If we ban airplanes, then we should ban pools. As an aviation buff, this wrong!!

Btw, you can see the airplane on Google Earth.

If I'm correct, that's the house that is always decorated to the 9's for Christmas. :) Very pretty.

I lived their in late 80's, early 90's when Jason owned the property. The fuselage was a Convair 340 converted ino a mobile home complete with hot tub on board! Sadly, I heard he passed away a few years ago.

Poor "Jason's" house! The new owners have been steadily dismantling it! "Jason" was an alias which worked for a long time til some "friend" of his ratted him out, I understand. He ended up serving a long-ago jail sentence and died shortly thereafter. Sad.

Interestingly enough, the new owner is none other then Dario Pini...

Though the online estimate shows it valued at over $1 million, the property sold for $350,000 on 12/28/2012 per the assessor's office website. Seems like a great deal until you factor in the cost of clean up for the hydraulic lifts in the back yard...yes, that's right. "Nice day fer somethin'"

How do you see who is the registered owner? On city-data it still lists Jason, which is clearly incorrect.

884 - I work in real estate and have access to records of who owns what properties. Also, it was sold as an all cash deal due to it being a fixer in very poor condition. There is no way this property is worth a million or even close to it. In 2012 values were still down, especially in that neighborhood and they really got no great deal.

The "zestimate" has the over million value listed due to a lack of knowledge about property condition and neighborhood.
