Rumbles
updated: Jan 28, 2014, 3:21 PM

Just heard/felt another one of those rumbles at 3:08 PM....and please, it was not a sonic boom or earthquake. I'm near Bishop Diego High School.

There were no earthquakes reported by USGS.

Felt it in Goleta. Seemed kind of like a mild sonic boom. Or perhaps the neighborhood kid ran his bike head-on into my garage door.

Me too! There was a boom and a small shake. I'm off of Patterson. Nothing showing on the USGS earthquake map.

The Navy has relocated it's test squadron to NAS Ventura County from China Lake temporarily while the runways are undergoing maintenance. Likely you're hearing sonic booms from Navy jets out over the ocean.

Yep, here too, out by the IN N' Out.

Yep, felt/heard it in San Roque (near Peabody school). Is it bad that the weird noises are getting common enough that I just shrug them off? Just think, it'll make it that much easier when our alien overlords finally arrive.

Alien overlords? Don't worry, they're already here - and watching your every move ;)

We live near Vandenburg, there are a lot of unexplained rumbles, don't sweat it. :)

Hmmm I work at bishop but had left for the day at that point. I will ask around tmrw morning and see if anyone head or felt anything. They didn't send out any emails about it. I'll check back in if anyone knows the source!

We heard and felt the same on the Riviera. How is it that these earthquakes never get reported?!

I like the last bit of that post - "please don't suggest a rational answer".

There's a lot of fracking going on lately throughout the county and especially here on the south coast.

Heard it loud-and-clear out at Girsh Park.

I felt a couple, really I hear them because we have big, old windows, in aluminum panes, that rattle. It was a bigger rattle than usual, and also some rumbling, and creaking of the house. It was a bit earlier than 3:00, as it was before my kids were home. Also, it was enough to unsettle the dog... Could it be related to fracking? I live by Los Carneros and cath oaks... I wonder if I should put a match to the tap water, see what happens...

I had the same experience too, but it was Sunday a little after 2 pm. I checked Edhat, but I guess no one else heard/felt it.

Me too, 091. I hear them about once a week. I say it's sonic. My old sliding window shakes, but not the cheap closet doors. When the doors shake, it's an earthquake.
