I'm going to sell many items on eBay and need an accurate, not too expensive, scale to weigh the items. What's a good brand - make or model that will weigh items up to, say 20 - 50 lbs?

It really depends on how accurate you need it to be. A simple digital bathroom scale should work fine if you need just pounds and ounces. There's one I found on Amazon for around $17. Search for: "Peachtree GS-150 Tempered Glass Digital Bathroom Scale with LCD Display" and you should find it or others like it. Or, you could get a package scale for about $10 more. Search Amazon for "Accuteck A-ST85LB."

Over the past few years Costco has had a good price on a digital bathroom scale. I've used ours to weigh myself and then cradle a heavy item in my arms and weigh again to get a reasonably accurate weight.

How about a luggage scale? they're pretty cheap. I think most places like Staples, Office Depot should have them. If not postal scales aren't that costly, you can find those there too. I bought mine there, brand is Royal, model RC40. It was about $30, but they have less expensive models as well. You could check Amazon if you're not in a big hurry and can't find one locally.

Get a real postal scale -- not a bathroom scale. I bought a Weigh Max postal scale on Amazon, cheap shipping, digital, saves weights for a few minutes. It was cheap and it works great!

If you're weighing sterling silver, Rose Damask pattern, to sell, please let me know. (just kidding) I think price of silver is still down. Weight (ha ) a bit for it to go back up.

Just get the cheapest digital scale you can get on ebay. Anything you buy "locally" is going to be made in China anyway.
