Isla Vista Couple Arrested for Conspiring to Sell Drugs Psilocybin Mushrooms, Marijuana and $127,000 in Cash Seized

On Friday, January 17th, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies and University of California Santa Barbara Police Department Officers, all assigned to the Isla Vista Foot Patrol, conducted a traffic stop on 25 year old Julius Perdomo in the 6500 block of Del Playa Drive. Perdomo was pulled over for driving with amplified music, a violation of vehicle code 27007. During the traffic stop, Perdomo was found to be in possession of almost one pound of marijuana and there was evidence obtained which indicated he was also selling narcotics. Perdomo was arrested and taken into custody.

During the course of the investigation, Sheriff's Deputies discovered that Perdomo lived with his girlfriend, 23 year old Sarah Pet, in the 700 block of Camino Del Sur. A search warrant was obtained and served on Perdomo's residence. During the search warrant service, Sheriff's Deputies discovered 58 pounds of processed marijuana, approximately one pound of psilocybin mushrooms and 42 grams of concentrated cannabis. They also found evidence indicating that Pet was involved with selling narcotics. She was arrested and taken into custody.

In addition to the drugs found at the residence, Sheriff's Deputies discovered $17,000 in cash and two safe deposit box keys. A follow up search warrant was served on the safe deposit boxes and $93,000 in cash was seized. Today, January 21, another follow up search warrant was served on Perdomo and Pet's bank accounts and another $16,000 was seized. In all, Sheriff's Deputies seized a total of $127,000 in cash during the investigation.

Both Perdomo and Pet were booked for a violation of 182 PC - Conspiracy, 11359 H&S - Possession of marijuana for sale and 11378 H&S - Possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms for sale. Perdomo is being held on $30,000 bail. Pet was released on her own recognizance pending her court date.
