Drought Images
updated: Jan 18, 2014, 11:30 AM

By a hopeful but concerned Edhat Subscriber

Two images of the California snowpack that illustrates the severity of the current drought.

Although the snowpack does not directly affect Santa Barbara water supplies it is the source for State Water that local water districts have come to count on for supplemental supplies when rain has not replenished local reservoirs.

Water supplies were the limiting factor to local growth and State Water became the godsend for pro- growth advocates. But what happens when even that heaven sent boon fails to materialize? Do we change our ways and live within our means? Or pretend it's just leftist environmental propaganda and go on as before? Will religion (emotion) be the answer? Or reason (science)? Public comment/outcry is certainly split.
