January 18, 2014 - White Plumage, Orange Bill

Denise Dewire stopped at Lake Los Carneros and snapped photos of the various birds that frequent the area this time of year. As this large waterfowl (the mute swan) spreads its wings we see just how impressive in size it is!

In local news, traffic was at a standstill on Hwy 101 due to a female jumping out of a vehicle, a reader reported seeing a trail of blood leading from the door at the Starbucks at Victoria and State resulting in a temporarily closure, and a reader found mysterious chalk cones on More Mesa.
