My daughter found a brand new surf board left behind at the beach-- she left her phone number on a sign on a tree and reunited the board with its owner. Someone took a pic of her sign and the thing went viral.. Ellen DeGenere's producer actually called and invited my daughter to be a part of her show -- which will be filmed sometime this month! If you google "World Actuality 20 photos that will make you cry" you can see my daughter's sign

If you're having trouble finding 290's post, google "world actuality 20 photos" with or without the quotes.

A driver slowed down and waited until I crossed the road before continuing on. Without any cops in sight.

My daughter left her car overnight in the Paseo Nuevo parking garage. Decided it was better to take a cab home! When we went to pick it up the next morning she said she had enough money to pay the fees, which she said were $20, so I left. Turns out she was short $5.00. She had absolutely no money in the bank and no credit cards. A wonderful gentleman gave the attendant the money and wished my daughter a Merry Christmas. He wouldn't tell her his name so if he sees this I hope he knows what a wonderful act of kindness this was!

Today my friends car battery died. I had jumper cables in my car but neither of is knew how to use them. We popped both of our hoods and she was on the phone with her husband when a really nice guy stopped and did it for us.

I still love it when men open doors for me, it is so rare these days. Kudo's to all you gentlemen out there!

Please notice the word "unexpected".

I had a fellow look up my name in the phone book and call me to tell me he found my wallet in the road.

I had car salesman call my brother out of state (my cell hone was at home) to tell me he had fished my wallet out of a busy intersection where it had fallen off my bumper...made him some brownies as he wouldn't take a reward.

My new neighbors noticed my old water heater (that had recently burst-- ugh!) had been sitting outside our garage for a few days. I hadn't even officially met them yet when the wife came over and said her husband would be happy to load it in his truck for us ... later that day we came home and the busted water heater was gone! They didn't even wait for us to help with heavy lifting. We are soooooo grateful! (Thank you, thank you!) We girls owe them cookies! (Nom, nom!)

I was walking on the dog beach a few weeks ago when I saw a credit card sticking out of a clump of seaweed. The name was somewhat unusual and followed by a professional title. I easily found contact information for the out-of-state cardholder and sent him a note informing him what happened to the card and that I destroyed it (I assumed it had been already reported lost ).

Today in the mail I received a cheerful thank you card with a Starbucks gift card enclosed! He said he hoped I enjoyed a meal and a few drinks on the card before it was cancelled. Hahaha gotta love Santa Barbara.
