Scanner Reports 1-13-14
updated: Jan 13, 2014, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Monday, Monday. A new day, a new week, a clean slate with the same old stuff on the table Issues to be dealt with. I was listening to the Scanner the night Brian T was shot on Victoria and De La Vina. I did not hear the whole call because I had gotten up to get something, or use the can I can't remember which. The first thing I heard was the medical call go out for a Gun Shot Victim then I heard a police officer say something about setting up a perimeter another Officer stated the crime scene was basically secure meaning that everyone involved was there at that location. Having not been there and actually seeing what occurred exactly I can't say I know what happened; I can only say why I think happened. I have always thought that this was a suicide by cop. As the story of Brian's life surfaces I have had questions like why would anyone on their way to see a loved one especially their child that they haven't seen for a while commit suicide on the way there? Wouldn't they do it afterwards? Of course if he was under the influence of drugs especially a drug that makes people violent that might explain it, he wasn't in his right mind. I have never done Meth but I have known people who have, and have heard of violent actions under the influence of the drug. I had other thoughts and questions bouncing around in my head but they have since been answered pretty much, funny though when the mind is not settled on something and one has questions, thoughts, or an opinion on something when it doesn't go along with the program how quick others are to judge, (of course I'm not guilty of this).

Someone accused me of trolling the other day when I said I wouldn't have complained at all if Nicola Mollo had gotten shot by the police on Bath Street the other night during the Stand Off. There is a big difference between both cases Brian walking down the street with a knife hadn't punched a puppy dog in the face, or beat up an elderly person his action if any was totally self-inflicted, his intention wasn't to hurt anyone but himself in my opinion. I am allowed an opinion, am I not? Or am I everyone's pin cushion?

I am type 2 Diabetic. Been this way for a long time as I age so does the disease and I'm not as strong as I once was. I have a hard time walking long distances. I'm not able to do things I used to for a long period of time like ride a bicycle. I don't think my eyes have been affected so much maybe more by age than anything. I think people who make fun of people with disabilities, even if they dislike that person are severely disturbed and need help themselves, just my opinion.

Went to one of my favorite stores the other day to get some grub Fresh and Easy, always liked the store for the bargains here and there miss the 5.00 Weekly coupon in their flyer but I still save a few bucks shopping there. Sometimes I feel a little uncomfortable in line because it's self-serve but I like running my groceries thru though I am a little slow. The employees usually offer to help but none so much as Marlena. Every time I'm ready to run myself thru, she volunteers to not only run my groceries through, but to bag it as well and though I offer she accepts nothing in return. I have also observed people forgetting to get their change from the computer check outs. She grabs the money and chases them down to return it. Fresh and Easy is very lucky to have such an honest hard working employee working for them when it's time for her to get a raise I hope she gets a big one because she deserves it.
