More Mesa Walk
updated: Jan 12, 2014, 7:42 PM

My wife and I went walking on More Mesa this morning for a 2.5 mile hike. I took my new Canon 70D with the 55-250 Zoom. I am just learning all the ins and outs of this very capable camera but I was pleased with the initial results. Here are pics of some of the wildlife we saw on our less than 1hour trek. Some of the shots are at the edge of the available resolution as they show only a tiny portion of the original shot. The kite for instance was about 100 yards away. I was most pleased with the Coopers Hawk in flight. After the hawk landed on a power pole the kite attacked him several times, I did get it on film but it was too far away and the motion is really blurred so I won't post. Happy for any correction to the IDs. The point of all this is to show the wide range of wildlife that can be seen on even a short walk.
