It snowed in Carpinteria last weekend
We're lucky around here. Whereas much of the country wrestles with icy roads, tire chains, snow drifts and
frigid air temperatures, we bask in warm weather. Our tennis courts are busy, beach umbrellas line our
shores and juicy ripe oranges hang on the trees.
But it snowed in Carpinteria last weekend. Granted, it was 100% manmade and the air temperature was a
comfortable 72 degrees, but there it was….a massive pile of snow, ten tons in fact, at the recently
renovated Carpinteria Arts Center.
For me, the best part of being at Carpinteria First's "Snow Much to Do" event was watching youngsters
discover the magic of snow, many for the first time.
