Missing Man Formation
updated: Jan 07, 2014, 8:11 AM

By Edhat Subscribers

A pilot was laid to rest in Montecito, and a Missing Man formation was among the honors. We were approaching SBA from the Harbor when we heard them offshore calling it in to ATC, so I snapped this with Anacapa in the background. Then after landing we saw four of them peel off in a "break" over the runway prior to landing. Beautiful to watch, and we learned at the airport afterward that they're the Bonanzas To Oshkosh formation group. (By John Wiley)

We were walking at Lake Los Carneros when this squadron of 6 planes flew overhead...4:38 pm Monday afternoon, headed east (towards SB). They were much louder than the usual traffic. Do readers recognize any of them? Thanks. (Photos by Jessie Altstatt)
