January 3, 2014 - An Enchanted Year

John Wiley told a friend this aerial photo of the January 1, 2014 sunset wouldn't show the beauty. But oh how wrong he was! This time, shooting towards the sun from the air did not produce shades of haze but, rather, captured the magical moment as the sun set on the first day of the new year.

In local news, a claim is being filed against the SBPD and City of Santa Barbara for the wrongful murder of Brian P. Tacadena, the jogger who died after being struck by a car has been identified as Ryuta Yamaguchi of Santa Ynez, and a subscriber noticed a patch of oil on Summerland Beach.
