JuiceWell & Crazy Good Bread
updated: Jan 04, 2014, 12:00 PM

By Lauren Bray

Two new stores have opened up in one great location in Montecito. JuiceWell and Crazy Good Bread are sharing a space at 1235 Coast Village Road.

JuiceWell is serving up freshly pressed juices using a variety of local and organic ingredients. Unlike other store-bought juices, JuiceWell is un-pastuerized which retains all the nutrients and ensures a fresh product. Their slogan is to help people feel better and think higher, and after an evening of sipping these exotic formulas, I already felt my wine headache from the night before lessen.

During their opening reception, all of their juices were available to sample. These mixtures and combinations were downright delicious and quirky names added to the fun like The Fire Starter, Mojo, Crantastic, and Oxygenator. My favorite is the Immunity Blast filled with grapefruit, orange, lemon, lime, goji berry, ginger, and honey. The complexity of flavor is unlike any other juice I've had. After tasting this, that Tropicana from the market just isn't going to cut it anymore. It's like riding in a brand new car and then getting back into your 25-year-old hunk of junk.

JuiceWell has also opened a shop on the east coast with Manya Williams; she has been juicing for over a decade and is a driving creative force when it comes to recipes. Local owner and resident juicer Sharon Egan shares her passion for a healthier lifestyle through nutrition:

"Changing our views and our routines can be exciting and transformational, but it is also difficult. It takes support and encouragement and it has to be simple and pleasant to do. With JuiceWell remedies, we are providing deeply nutritious, delicious and easy to get food/drinks. We see a role for healthy juices with new combinations of wellness ingredients that can become a part of people's diets for a variety of healthy reasons to support active lifestyles, provide sustenance through life's challenges (like hangovers and marathons), and buttress natural transitions such as childbearing and aging. We also endeavor to make you feel good about buying from us because we are conscious, and community-centric - we are a local juicery using local organic produce employing local people and giving profit dollars for local causes. Young, old - we hope to help you stay healthy!"

Crazy Good Bread is a specialty artisan bread company serving up an assortment of tasty treats. The flavors range from fig masala to orange chocolate and lavendar walnut. Yes, those are bread flavors. After gorging myself on the plethora of samples, I determined my absolute favorite is the pretzel bread dipped in the fig balsamic. Definitely worth a visit!

Owner Rossell Studer is encouraging everyone to join this Breadventure.

"Crazy Good Bread is our way of making the good life a little bit better. For us, bread became our canvas. For you, we add unexpected dimensions and flavors that will stop you mid-bite to make bread the main attraction at your table once more."

(Crazy Good Bread Owner Rossell Studer)

JuiceWell and Crazy Good Bread will also be opening locations in the new Public Market on West Victoria and Chapala, slated for this spring.
