Tacadena Lawsuit To Be Filed
updated: Jan 02, 2014, 9:39 AM

Source: Poder SB

On or about September 1, 2013, Santa Barbara Police Department killed Brian Phillip Tacadena, a 46 year old Santa Barbara local. Mr. Tacadena was shot once by an unidentified police officer. Mr. Tacadena had a history of mental illness which SBPD was aware of. Contradicting witness reports and a "broken" video recording question the actions of the police officer.

On December 13, 2013, The District Attorney declared the killing of Brian Tacadena justifiable homicide.

The Tacadena Family and community groups join to fight an ongoing epidemic of police brutality not only in Santa Barbara but throughout the state.

We, the Law Offices of James P. Segall-Gutierrez, will be filing a claim for damages against the Santa Barbara Police Department and the City of Santa Barbara for the brutal wrongful murder of Brian P. Tacadena. We are demanding $10 million dollars. The claim for damages is in preparation of filing a wrongful death civil rights complaint in the Federal Central District Court of California. We will be having press conference on Thursday, January 2, 2014.
