Sounds like the Eyeglass Factory to me, too. Since it's locally owned, you might want to call them. They're very locally involved, and if they aren't who you're thinking of, they could more than likely know who it is.

Dontcha just love "quests" to find things? I like challenges.

I don't think the Eyeglass Factory makes its own frames. It is factory in name only, clever name, too. They seem to buy in bulk for their stores and then mark up tremendously. I'd do an online search....

Fwiw, I just did a very quick few-seconds-long search and came up with Blue Planet Eyewear in Carpinteria.

The Eyeglass Factory owners name if Rick. He's a very friendly, community oriented man. Hope you get to meet him, but if you don't, just know that shopping there truly benefits the community.

The Eyeglass Factory is division of the world corporate entity that is Luxotica.

Buying sunglasses? Buying eyeglasses? Buying eye care? How about eye insurance? 90% of everything sold in this category is owned by this monopoly.

How can that be? How can you walk into a Luxotica owned Sunglass Hut and not be looking at options from different companies but instead just different versions of their own product? Rayban, Versache, Prada, G&G, Oakley.. Yep. All owned by Luxoitca.

Ditto nice words on Rick and his family and their community involvement. This weekend he did a free clinic including free eye exams for children in need. He does it every year.
