The Dedicated Staff was invited to the Lobero Theatre on Tuesday night to check out their new
renovations. The Lobero Theatre opened in 1873 and has been celebrating 140 years of great
memories. Leaflets handed out by the theatre explained what was included in the six month remodel
with the hefty $7 million dollar price tag:
"Today the Encore: Lobero Campaign will ensure that the theatre remains vibrant for the next 140
restoring a youthful glow to the theatre's interior
providing new seats with more legroom and accessibility
installing heating and air conditioning for the first time
nearly doubling the size of the women's restroom
creating a safe and welcoming Esplanade at the theatre's entrance.
These olive trees stirred up quite the discussion on edhat. Check out the comments here and here.
Turns out, Esplanade is a fancy theatrical word for "a long, open, level area along which people may
walk for pleasure." The Dedicated Staff took much pleasure in strolling the new Esplanade.
For only $2,500, you can have a seat named after you in the auditorium. It's unclear if one would be
able to seat in their named seat whenever they like. But it could definitely help get someone out of your
seat by saying, "excuse me, my name is on it."
Check out these behind the scenes photos
provided by the Lobero Theatre.
