Collision SR-246 At Casino Dr.

Update on fatal collision SR-246 at Casino Dr.:

Type of Collision: Fatal
Date and Time: 12/19/13, 1400 hrs
Location: SR 246 E/of Cuesta Rd, Buellton

Persons Involved:
1. Rebecca Sandoval, 37 year old female, resident of Lompoc, CA, driving a 2010 Jeep Wrangler
2.Coroner #13-17458, 68 year old female, resident of Buellton, CA, driving a 2004 Toyota Highlander, was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital
3. Simona Mikusova, female age 28 of the Slovak Republic, driving a 2013 Chevy Equinox, transported to Cottage Santa Ynez for minor injuries
4. Michal Miklas, male age 58, resident of the Slovak Republic, passenger in the 2013 Chevy Equiunox, transported to Cottage Santa Ynez

Summary:
On 12/19/13, at approximately 1400 hours, P-1 (Sandoval) was driving V-1 E/B on SR 246 east of Cuesta Rd. at approximately 55 mph. P-2 was driving V-2 E/B on SR 246 east of Cuesta Rd. and was slowing for the red light ahead. P-3 was driving V-3 E/B on SR 246 and had stopped at the red light. Due to P-1's unsafe speed, the front of V-1 collided with the rear of V-2. The force of the collision caused V-2 to be propelled forward where the front of V-2 collided with the rear of V-3. P-2 sustained major injuries and was flown by Cal-Star to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. P-3 and a passenger were treated and released for minor injuries at Cottage Hospital in Santa Ynez. Sandoval was arrested at the scene on suspicion of DUI.

Update: P-2 succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Update: The name of the deceased is being released - Linda Wall.
