Stabbing Investigation

Investigators from the Santa Barbara Police Department are currently investigating the stabbing of two people and a dog that occurred on the 700 block of E. Haley Street on December 14, 2013.

On December 14, 2013 at 6:29 p.m., a 52-year old man and a 48-year old woman, both from Santa Barbara, appeared at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Emergency Room, both suffering from multiple stab wounds. The male victim's dog was located in the Emergency Room parking lot; it too had been stabbed. Investigation indicates that at the time of the incident all of the victims were on the 700 block of E. Haley Street when they were attacked by a suspect who stabbed them. Following the incident the victims drove to the hospital. Santa Barbara City Animal Control transported the injured dog to CARES Animal Hospital for treatment. All of the victims are expected to survive.

This incident does not appear to be gang related. No arrests have been made. This investigation is ongoing and additional details are being withheld.

Code 245pc: Assault with a deadly weapon, somewhere on Haley. The exact location is unknown but the victim is at Cottage. (12/15/13)
