SANTA BARBARA, CA - December 7, 2013

On December 6, 2013 at 11:26 p.m., several Santa Barbara Police Department officers responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls of a subject brandishing a deadly weapon inside of a residence on the 1200 block of San Andres Street. Shortly after the responding officers arrived on-scene the suspect, a 26-year old man, assaulted one of the officers with a deadly weapon. A shooting incident involving that officer occurred. The suspect sustained multiple gunshot wounds and is currently being treated at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The officer was uninjured. Because this incident is in the early stages of investigation many details are being withheld. As the investigation progresses additional information may be forthcoming.
