Local Scandal on National News

Last month our small Santa Barbara community was rocked by the sexting scandal of Undersheriff Jim Peterson and Search & Rescue volunteer Valerie Walston. The salacious details were documented in the article published by The Independent, including references to the Fifty Shades of Grey characters by both parties.

This morning I woke up to numerous e-mails in my inbox from various friends who live all over the country. Apparently news of our small town scandal has spread across the globe to a variety of popular gossip and news websites. All of them using the Fifty Shades of Grey detail in the headlines.

Here were some links and headlines that were sent to me by friends (most of whom asking what really happened):

"50 Shades Of Grey SeXXX Scandal Rocks Santa Barbara Sheriff's Dept! Dirty Deets HERE!" PerezHilton.com

"‘Fifty Shades Of Grey' Rocks Sheriff Department, 11,500 ‘Graphic' Texts Sent Between Top Official & Officer Who Called Each Other Christian & Anastasia" RadarOnline.com

" 'Fifty Shades of Grey'-style sex scandal rocks Sheriff's office as 'explicit' texts between top official and officer reveal they called themselves Christian and Anastasia" DailyMail
