Car Sound System
updated: Dec 05, 2013, 3:34 PM

Wondering if there is a reliable, and reasonably priced place to take my car to get the sound system upgraded? Axxess 2014 has a deal for 10% off installation fees at Car Stereo Guys but I'm wondering if there's a better option.

DIY - Crutchfield will send you detailed instructions with each item you buy tailored to your specific vehicle.

If cost is really that important ANY installer in SB will be too much.

I had a good experience with SB Auto Stereo putting satellite radio in my car. They gave me some advice for switching my wireless plan on my phone (not with them, just free advice), and it saved me enough money over the year to essentially cover the upgrade.

Car Stereo Guys is the only place I would go to. They've done three of my cars and they've left me impressed every time! No need to look elsewhere!

Don't waste your time with anyone but Car Stereo Guys. The most professional/reliable in town, hands down.

SB Auto stereo for sure. you will save money in the long run. I purchased a truck with a recent install by someone else and had to have SB Auto stereo fix the install

She asked for reasonably priced vendors, you will not find anyone in SB. I suggest you go to oxnard. Very good down there and a quarter the price

Just research what kind of speakers and deck you want online. Check the stores if they have the same things you see online and compare prices. If they are cheaper online get them. Then have the pros and car stereo guys install it.

Please shop local whenever you can!
And remember you're spending precious time and gas money if you go out of SB. Happy Hols

I have had good experience with SB auto stereo.

706 That is a recipe for ruining our country. Shop local and support your neighbors.

776- I also shop locally when possible, I love supporting local shops but the op was requesting a reasonably price vendor. You are assuming they must pay double the prices to support local shops. Some are unable to afford what you can.

Car Stereo Guys are very reasonable with their prices. Almost no mark up on equipment and fair with installation. Several friends and I have been very happy with them.

SB Auto Stereo for sure. These guys have been around for over 30 years. Very experienced. Says alot about a local business. I've had atleast 5 cars worked on by them over the years. Great work.

"Support your neighbors" advice is a bit hard to stomach when I see them buying foreign products and hiring the cheapest labor they can find (often without paying appropriate benefits). I remember a member of the BOS who bragged on her requirement that the county buy local. She then showed up in the county lot with her new Japanese car showing paper plates from an Oxnard dealer. Stop the hypocrisy and support decent salaries for everyone, not just the local merchant.
