Morro Coast Audubon sponsored an open house at Condor Lookout on Hi Mountain Saturday the 5th. They gave an overview of their partnerships with various Condor research groups on the Central Coast, and thanked their Cal Poly interns who were leaving after a summer of condor and habitat-monitoring research.
It was a beautiful day, warm with a good breeze at the top (Hi Mountain was a retired Forest service Fire Lookout near Pozo, it's now operated by MCAS). Several speakers gave talks and there were track-casting activities for kids, bird and plant walks, a pot luck supper, slide show, and a Condor movie. A camp-out by the hardier souls closed out the season at Condor Lookout. Check out MCAS's website for additional information about open house activities at Condor Lookout. A Special Place on a Special Day! Mark your calendars for Spring!
