Not surprising. Northbound pass the State on ramp the traffic thins out and the speeding begins. Lots of accidents lately in the good land of Goleta. S.B. has a trouble spot around the Milpas area, more due to congestion.

Time to close the El Sueno on/off-ramp. I use it, but honestly it is a relic of another era and an accident always waiting to happen, just like the silly left-hand on/off ramps in montecito

They would never close that it's the express offramp to jail..

The onramp/off ramp wasn't the cause of the accident.

Instead of closing on/off ramps, why doesn't everyone stop speeding and stop texting/yakking on cell phones while driving. There's a thought.

I drive the freeway at 9am on Sundays, and was going south when this accident happened in the northbound direction. I have to say that there are a significant number of elderly drivers at that time; probably people whose only weekly drive is to church. On Sunday mornings, I typically pass at least 2 cars with elderly drivers going about 40-50 mph in the slow lane and often half in the slow lane and half on the shoulder. Don't know if such a driver was involved in that accident.
