Another Beautiful FRYday in Santa Barbara. Do you ever think about earthquakes? Every once in a while the thought of an earthquake pops into my head, and it goes from thought to happening in my head like PTSD. I'll be sitting here and it's like the whole action from thought to finish will go thru my head, like a movie. I imagine what it would be like a nightmarish dream of sorts Santa Barbara all tore up homes sliding off foundations, people climbing out of rubble, vehicles smashed, roads cracked and broken into pieces, exposed gas lines ripped from homes, moaning, people hurt, people dead. Do you think it could happen here? Here in Santa Barbara where everything is Beautiful and nothing bad ever happens? Are you ready for an Earthquake or another Natural Disaster? Are you prepared? Do you have everything you need to Survive for a few days, or a Week? I'm not prepared; I don't have everything I would like to have but I could make it work with what I do have. Everyone jokes about Duct tape, but it really is a life saver. If you have a cut that will not stop bleeding duct tape can help temporarily anyway, just slap that tape right across that cut, and Wrap it around if you can. Duct tape is pretty strong and can hold until help gets to you. Of course most of us have water, or Toilet paper enough for a day, or so and there's fruit trees around for nutrition if you get along with your neighbors there is support. Even if you don't really get along or don't know your neighbors, people usually help each other during a disaster.
I went to visit a sister of mine in Fort Wayne Indiana one winter weekend and a blizzard hit. It was back in the late 70's and we were basically trapped in her apartment for 3 days. It was pretty dangerous; strong winds, heavy snow. People were buried in the snow, a car load of kids were found under a drift in Ohio. One of my sister's neighbors had a medical emergency and the EMS got stuck in the snow, so like 40 of us guys were out there digging, rocking and shoving that baby back to the main road. For your own safety if you were caught on the road the National Guard took you into custody, they got me trying to thumb it outta town, there was a curfew. After several days the snow and drifts were deep but it wasn't storming anymore, people started digging out, a local super market gave away their food with promissory notes to pay it back. Each person was allowed 15.00 Dollars' worth of food; I got the food along with my sister and friends of hers. After 3 days with my sister I left, had to get back to Hammond to my job and the National Guard took me into custody for my own safety. I escaped after eating a good deal of their food and hitched 130 miles in a couple of hours. That was almost 40 years ago. I never played UNO again. Back then people bought a lot of canned foods, they still do. Canned food is always good to have around in case of a disaster. Nowadays food can be bought in all sorts of different packaging full on prepared meals in containers they don't always taste as good just cooked but they ain't too bad either. All kinds of products on the market in case of a natural disaster be prepared you never know when a Natural Disaster will strike.
Does anyone have an old gas dryer they don't need maybe an old one shoved in the back of the garage they been wanting to get rid of for a long time it may not put out enough heat to dry in an hour, might take 2 the door might be broken it's a rust bucket, you don't need it anymore but not going to toss it because it still works a little. Will my dryer took a dump, It don't dry at all not even after hours and hours if you got an old gas dryer laying around with a regular plug in nothing special when my payday comes along I'd be more than happy to part with a few bucks for one. Or maybe you might know where I can get a used one cheap please let me know OK?

Will that's it outta me for now man but ya know I put the serious stuff up anyway, if I hear it. I'll sit here for hours not hear a darn thing get up go to the can suddenly there's all kinds of stuff going over the scanner I cannot hear. It's like people are waiting for me to go to the bathroom before they break the law, I always had the feeling someone was watching now I know. Anyway a friend of mine who owns a business on Milpas but is not involved in the festivities on Saturday afternoon tells me that he got a note from the powers that be that if he should have any problems with the homeless or other less desirables call 911 Right away. I really hope I don't go out to get my mail on Saturday and get tackled and taken away because I'm a less desirable on Milpas. I look like a homeless guy is there a code we're all supposed to know so we could tell the homeless and less desirables from everyone else? I'll just stay in and watch Gene Autry all weekend, that's what I want to do anyway. Have a Wonderful Weekend Everyone, and Doggie willing we will see you on Monday. Later, Roger
