A Carpinteria resident who was arrested earlier this year for possession for sales of methamphetamine was arrested again this
week for the same offense. In February 2013, 51 year old Randy Herbes of Carpinteria was investigated for drug sales. At that time, he was contacted in
the 5400 block of Carpinteria Avenue and a search warrant was served on him and his vehicle. As a result of this search, Herbes was found in possession of
1 ½ ounces of methamphetamine. He was arrested and booked for possession for sales of methamphetamine.
During the last month, Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives received information that Herbes was again selling methamphetamine in the
Carpinteria area. On Tuesday, September 17, Detectives observed Herbes driving northbound on Highway 101. Sheriff's Patrol Deputies were contacted and
assisted in conducting a traffic stop on Herbes. Once again a search warrant was served on him and his vehicle. Herbes was found in possession of ¼
ounce of methamphetamine and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for violations of possession for sales of a controlled substance, and
transportation of a controlled substance. Due to Herbes still being out of custody on bail from his February arrest, bail was set at $55,000.
Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives also arrested a Goleta resident on Wednesday, September 18, for possession for sales of cocaine
and ecstasy. After a month long investigation, Detectives served a search warrant in the 300 block of Cannon Green and arrested 24 year old Christopher
Krueger of Goleta. During the service of the search warrant, Detectives located approximately ¼ ounce of cocaine, several ecstasy pills, packaging supplies
and other narcotics paraphernalia. Krueger's bail was set at $30,000.
