American Road Trip

My beautiful girlfriend was accepted into the Veterinary College at Iowa State University this year, so in
August we packed up the car and made the eighteen hundred mile drive to Ames, Iowa. Since this would
be the last time we'd see each other for a while, we decided to take our time and make it an adventure.
We stopped in Vegas (of course) and the Grand Canyon and many other beautiful locations along the
way. I brought my handy Canon Powershot 110HS and filmed randomly during the entire trip. We were
even lucky enough to catch the Iowa State fair which is the biggest in the nation.
I just made this video for our own personal memories but thought I'd share it with my town in case
anyone has ever dreamed of doing a big road trip.
It was a lot of fun, and it made me realize how beautiful America really is. Along with that, it also made
me grateful for living in Santa Barbara even more. Many of the towns along the way seemed to be
carbon copies of each other. You drive through and see the same chain stores, fast food restaurants and
hotels. SB truly is unique and I'm happy to be home, even though I miss my girl a lot.
