Good Morning Santa Barbara! Thank Dog it's FRYday!!! Will someone's done it again left their car door open probably thinking it's OK. I live in Santa Barbara the Beautiful American Riviera where nothing bad ever happens well it really isn't too bad there was just someone sleeping in their car. They tried Daddy's car but it was much too big and uncomfortable, they tried Mommy's car an old Ford Fairmont and there was Baby Bear's car a Honda Civic nice and comfortable the seat goes all the way back open the window and get a little air. I hear these calls a lot squatters, squatting in people's cars and lettuce just hope that is all this one did. Leave your vehicle doors open and you can expect this.
The last car I had I left open all the time for this crippled buddy of mine to crash in. I didn't care; after all he was my friend. That is until I found the turd on the driver's seat. Some people just don't like to get up in the middle of the night once they hit the sack they are all warm and comfortable. I junked my car right there and then got 30 Bucks for it, from my recycling buddies over on Gutierrez Street. They came and picked it up. Don't leave your vehicle doors open be really nice to find a nice big SUV to stretch out in, 40 years ago when I was a little kid out on the streets looking for a place to sleep I was told "Look for an unlocked vehicle" the kids slept in peoples' cars all the time 40 years ago, and they probably did it 40 years before that too! What would really suck is leaving your vehicle door open having some old drunk fart crawl into it and kick the bucket during the night. I'm sure it's happened before somewhere. Don't leave your vehicles unlocked and you probably won't find anyone sleeping in it in the morning, or dead. It might get broken into and everything you left in it might get ripped off but that's another deal all together you're not asking for it then unless of course there's a lot of cool stuff in your car RIGHT THERE for everyone to see. I have heard of guns being taken out of cars before, GUNS! I mean isn't there a better place to hide your GUN than the car?
The pickins are Sweet in a Town Ripe with Fools. If you don't want to be a victim then lock your doors, I lock my door even when I'm taking the trash out; I've learned my lesson. One can get ripped off or become a victim of a crime in the blink of an eye I'll never forget the time Ballistic Belinda went down to the market down the street she comes around the corner looks in the door and tells us, me and all my drunken friends that a man is following her. I said walk around the house we'll trap him. I thought she was full of it but here came this idiot up the driveway around the corner passed my door into the neighbors' area where there was no escape. Boy was he surprised! I came out the door and axed him "What you want with my Old Lady?" He was wearing a long rain coat it was 80 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. He was holding a knife under that coat let me see it, but there was a bunch of us and one of him, he said he was looking for the neighbor what's his name Oh yea Fred. I said he's not here."Yea Fred" he says. "Actually his name is Cal, I says "Get the Hell outta here!" He did too. I had one of the boys call 911, and I followed from a distance I wanted the coppers to ID him. Wasn't much else they could do it's SNOT like I got money. But I got to have a look at his vehicle took down the license plate. The guy was a friggen weirdo had all kinds of stuff packed in his car you could hardly see in there. He was from Washington State, never saw him again. Had that happen twice since I lived here. Another guy was stalking a female neighbor as she was watching TV had the back door open on a hot Summer night. I was watching him just as he was about to enter the back door "Hello there can I help you?" I says. He took off like a bat outta hell called the cops on that one too they caught up with him at Trader Joes. Another outta town weirdo not much they could do but ID him for future reference. Had a prowler here the other night kept hearing noises must have went out 3 times beating the bushes didn't find nothing though must be a Raccoon I thought, left a little spare change near the hose it was gone in the morning. Nothing else was missing sometimes they're just looking for a place to have a drink, lay their head, go poopy, or pee pee, sometimes they're Wacked but then again so am I. Best to keep everything locked up and not invite crime if you can help it. I've run into quite a few characters here I usually leave the women alone because 9 times outta 10 they are hiding from some idiot that's trying to hurt them.
