Red Rock to Gibraltar Dam

Sunday the Sierra Club hiked from Red Rock to Gibraltar Dam from the end of Paradise Road. Our
group of eight was led by experienced leader Alejandro.
It was quite hot out there and the water in the pools was refreshing. There was no water at any of
the road stream crossings and no water at any of the trail stream crossings either.
There were two pools that were big enough to swim in. One back near the dam and the other about
2/3 of the way to the dam.
The big Red Rock area near Paradise Road was almost completely dry so there were not a lot of
other visitors to the area.
When we started the hike we met a caretaker who keeps the public toilets clean. He said it is a
tough job because some people really make a mess. Turned out he is 83 years old!
Here are my photos plus three short
video clips. Alejandro the leader is the one making the beautiful dive.
