Drug Sniffing Dogs In School?
updated: Aug 17, 2013, 1:00 PM

Shouldn't they be dumb sniffing dogs? It is an educational facility. I know I might have offended some
with that comment but shouldn't schools be focused on education. What happened to the 3 R's? Schools
have gotten off track, lost their focus and they wonder why our kids are falling behind.
The focus of schools should be EDUCATION. Our tax dollars are meant to be spent on basic education. I
would rather offer an arts or music program for a well-rounded education. The schools are addressing
social issues and everything else under the sun when they need to focus on one thing and one thing
only, educating these kids.
The social issues: drinking, drugs, premarital sex and teen pregnancy should be dealt with at home.
Teachers are there to teach. not to parent. The kids that want to drink, do drugs, smoke and have sex or
have sex and smoke, HA! Well, they are going to do it regardless of any drug sniffing dog. If the school
catches a kid with drugs, kick them out. But schools don't want to do that because every kid that sits in
a chair is money for the school. Am I right?
Forget the dogs, if you catch them kick them out, the end. The schools should worry about the quality
of education these students are receiving. Are they prepared for college or the work force? Can they
write a grammatically correct sentence or do the math to balance their bank account? Come on people,
teachers don't want to be parents, police or therapists, they want to teach. Let's get our money's worth
and let them teach. Let's spend that drug sniffing dog money on what schools are intended to do and
that is EDUCATE.
Another day and another thing to get Fired Up about,
