O my Golly, it's FRYday. Four years ago yesterday I landed here on Edhat and I'm still here, it's a total miracle I haven't drank, but I haven't done that longer than 4 years still It's a miracle. I saw that little article in the Independent about the fella that my old doctor got hooked up on pain killers that died at only 27 years of age. It's sad for that to happen to such a young man, but don't see where it's the fault of the pharmacies that he became addicted to the drugs. Dr. Diaz was my doctor also. I think Dr. Diaz should have educated the man as to what he was taking. I assume the pain killers were Soma and vicodin, which I was told by a friend as well as an AMR Medic, can cause someone to have a heart attack. I was prescribed 6 to 8 vicodin per day, and 3 Somas, but I have always had a fear of chemical drugs, I took one vicodin per day and one Soma, my neighbor found me "Out of it" one day and he knew exactly what made me that way. I went to the hospital another day they asked to see my medication I had a big bag it was prescribed to me but I didn't take it. I only take blood pressure meds, anxiety med, and acid reflux meds. Sometimes asthma medication, I hardly ever take painkillers because of what they do to your guts.
I saw that article about blaming the pharmacies and thought it would be like if I sued all the liquor stores and bars I went to. That would be a HELL of a lot of $$$! I could see the look of the Bartenders face "Excuse me but I got really drunk here once went to the bathroom, barfed on my shoes slipped fell hitting my head on the urinal and I've been an alcoholic ever since." That should be good for 100,000 grand huh? It ain't their fault but money's money right? It's not the fault of anyone that I'm an alcoholic except for me. I don't feel like it's the fault of the pharmacies that the kid got hooked on heroin and died but you never know there might be more to the story. I've had asthma since I was a kid; I also have acid reflux they both seem to get tangled up along with allergies. A friend of mine with the same problems was seeing Dr. Diaz and he thought the doctor could help me that was why I started to see Dr. Diaz he treated me for my asthma and acid reflux it helped for a while but there were no miracle cures, I still get treated for both, no miracle cures.
