Skating Continues

The chains at the skateboard park have been cut and dragged into the Mission Creek overflow; one of the blocking doors partly smashed; as of 1:15, the skateboard park was back in use without those interfering chains.

If the city's Parks and Rec. is going to close the popular park, they need to have someone on duty there explaining and controlling the situation.

These pictures were at 5:15; the police arrived at about 5:40. The skateboard park reopened this evening at 6:30. One guess as to what lesson was learned by the young and not so young boys and men at this park this afternoon and last night - and it's a lesson not limited to the skaters: don't like the rules, smash them.

The City of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department announced that Skater's Point skate park on Cabrillo Boulevard will re-open on Thursday, July 4th. (07/04/13)
