This operation was to kick off the Memorial Day Holiday DUI Enforcement Weekend. Here are the results of the checkpoint:

Over the course of the Memorial Day holiday weekend, extra DUI Saturation Patrols will be deployed in the cities of Goleta, Guadalupe, Lompoc, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and the UCSB campus.

The national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" crackdown is led by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), with the California Avoid DUI Task Force Campaign combining high-visibility enforcement and heightened public awareness and impaired driving deterrence through publicity.

‘AVOID the 12' is named for the 12 Law Enforcement agencies within Santa Barbara County that work together to combat DUI driving. Funding for the Avoid DUI Task Force is by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Avoid Task Force will deploy checkpoints and DUI patrols next during the Independence Day Holiday and for the summer August/Labor Day DUI Mobilization.
