April 27, 2013 - Fluffy Owlets

Friday was a day inspired by baby animals. With the recent birth of a giraffe calf at the Santa Barbara Zoo, the Edhat Staff has been enthralled by photos of miniature cuteness. Which is why our Flash Friday was dedicated to them. Denise Dewire also sent in follow-up photos of the Great Horned Owl mom and her owlets. It's statistically proven that looking at an adorable baby animal in the morning will brighten your day. We're not totally sure about the statistics, but it sounds plausible. Enjoy anyway!

In the news: Public Health has quarantined all sport-harvested mussel species, a subscriber reports a RV fire in Goleta, and subscribers are curious about Santa Cruz Island boats. Read these stories and more, below.
