Child Pornography Arrest

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that on Thursday, April 18, 2013, Investigators from the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office and Detectives from the Santa Barbara County Sheriffs Department served a search warrant at a residence on Oak Knoll Road in Orcutt. The purpose of the search was to locate and seize evidence of the possession and distribution of child pornography via the internet. Based upon interviews and evidence located on-scene, Scott Alan Thompson, 50 years old, was arrested and then booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail.

On Friday, April 26, 2013, Scott Alan Thompson will be arraigned in Superior Court Department 9, in Santa Maria. The Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office has charged Thompson With felony violations of the following California Penal Code sections:

311.11(a) PC Possession of Child Pornography 311.2(c) PC Distribution of Child Pornography 311.4(c) PC Production of Child Pornography 288(a) PC Lewd Acts With a Child

To date, one child victim has been identifled.

Investigators request that anybody with any information regarding Scott Alan Thompson call District Attorney Investigator Ellis at 805-346-7542 or Sheriff Detective Zelis at 805-934-6172.
