Healthcare $

When they list hospitals and doctors they should do the same thing they do for restaurants and list the
dollars signs to indicate how expensive they are.
Cottage Hospital $$$$$
Dr. FancyCar $$$$$$$$
Since when do we need a hospital waiting room that looks like a 5 star hotel lobby? Since when do we
have to place expensive ads in the newspaper and on T.V. for a hospital?
I know the name of the hospital and where it is located. Do we really need all of that? Fancy paintings,
sculptures, decorations done by an interior designer. Are we that hoity toity? I know, Oprah lives in
Montecito, but man oh man that's crazy. All that costs money and that makes my bill higher.
I don't want a spa or a hotel. I want white, clean, sterile environment and personnel that are competent. I don't care about
gourmet food. If I'm sick in the hospital nothing will taste good anyway. I want enough personnel so
someone can check and take care of me, not leave me out in the back forty to fend for myself. I want
someone to answer when I push my buzzer. It's not too much to ask I think. I want healthcare not help
yourself because that extra nurse paycheck went to a fancy painting.
I would also like medical personnel to look more professional. Half the time they look like they just got
out of bed and came to work in their blue pajamas and didn't bother to brush their hair.
I don't want a robot surgery either. Some hospitals have a robot named Da Vinci that they use to do
surgeries. Have you heard about this? I don't want a robot, a painter, or a robot named after a painter to
do my surgery. Don't you people have enough toys to play with? They go to a weekend class and are
proctored for 3 surgeries and then they are an expert. HA! They usually lose money on those surgeries
as well. I want a real-life surgeon with God given hands. Danger Will Robinson Danger!
Why is so much money spent on PR and advertising for a hospital anyway. What a waste of my hard
earned money. The best advertising is word of mouth. Do a good job and they will find you. All the
extras and fancy stuff makes my bill higher. Do we really need that? Whenever I would ask my Mother
for something as a kid, she would always reply, "Now do you really NEED that?"
So that is my question to you, do we really NEED that?
Fired up and being frugal,
Fred
