UCSB Strong-Arm Robbery

On 03-11-13, at approximately 3:21pm, 30-year-
old Fernando Arroyo (non-affiliate) was arrested by
UCSB Police for an attempted strong-arm robbery that
occurred earlier in the day at Santa Catalina Residence
Hall.
The attempted strong-arm robbery occurred at
midnight outside the Santa Catalina Residence Hall near
the bike racks. Arroyo attempted to take personal
belongings from the victim. Arroyo assaulted the victim
while attempting to do so. After the brief struggle,
Arroyo was last seen running eastbound on El Colegio
Road. Arroyo was unsuccessful in obtaining any of the
victim's property.
Based on the good suspect description given by the
victim, Arroyo was observed loitering by the Student
Resource Building on campus and was ultimately
apprehended and placed under arrest for the following
charges: Felony attempt strong-arm robbery and
battery on a person.
