Quilt Appraiser
updated: Mar 12, 2013, 11:30 AM
I have about 20 vintage quilts that I would like to sell. Does anyone know of a local quilt appraiser who
can help me value them, and perhaps help me sell them? I want to avoid eBay and Craigslist. Thanks!

Contact Coastal Quilters Guild. Ask them, they're the experts in the area and should be able to send you in the right direction. Check their website.

Not on topic but on a first quick glance, it looked like you wanted a guilt appraiser. I was all set to give you my first wife's phone number until I looked more closely.

Good one, 937! And thanks 866 for the suggestion --I had forgotten about the Coastal Quilters Guild.

You might also check with "Roxannes" in Carpinteria. It's a quilting store with several expert quilters teaching there; really nice people. Wonderful, interesting place to visit. Also, in the store, you can see where Charlie Chaplin and Ona O'Neil were married, in front of the fireplace in what was once the living room of the Judge who performed the ceremony.

I think there is a gal on Brinkerhoff who is part of a quilting bee club. Ask around over there and you might get some information.
