Roosevelt Students Delve Into Science
Roosevelt Elementary School held its annual Science Fair on Thursday evening,
March 7. There were over 150 student entries that showcased students' research
on a wide variety of science topics. Physics, robotics, botany,
chemistry,astronomy and biology were among the most popular presentations. All
fifth and sixth graders participated. A number of students in grades K-4 also
had entries in the fair. On Friday, each class had time to visit the Roosevelt
Science Fair and discuss the scientific work of their peers.

Teachers Honored at Grant Recognition Dinner
On Tuesday, March 5, several teachers in our district were honored at the Santa
Barbara County Education Office annual Grant Recognition Dinner. Congratulations

iCAN Art Show and Mural Celebration at McKinley
McKinley Elementary School's auditorium will be aglow with color on Wednesday,
March 20, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., when the Incredible Children's Art Network (iCAN)
kicks off an art show and mural unveiling. Each McKinley student will have a
unique piece of artwork on display. Families, friends, and community partners
are invited to attend and honor the creative accomplishments of these talented
student artists.
The McKinley iCAN program operates under the direction of teaching artist Angela
Lang and art assistant Tiffany Strawn.
McKinley School is located at 350 Loma Alta Drive, on the Mesa.
