Day 6: Pink Place
updated: Mar 11, 2013, 7:15 PM

Did you guess this pink location?

###
The answer is.... the second story above Victor the Florist on 135 East Anapamu Street in Santa Barbara.
From the 2007 Edhat Archives: " ... that's where Victor the Florist has been selling flowers since 1930. Victor Sourmany
started selling his flowers as a bucket shop in front of the house at this location. Eventually he rented the house, then he bought it, then he added on that
piece in the back, then his children were born there. Victor died 16 years ago. These days his granddaughter Raeanne Alvarado and her husband Michael run
the
shop. Some day their children will run it. Obviously, the sign and the pink paint on the building don't conform well to Santa Barbara design guidelines.
Instead, they have been grandfathered in - in the truest sense of the phrase. Why pink you ask? Well it was Victor's favorite color, that's why. His flower
building was pink. His house was pink."
