Typing Certificate
updated: Mar 06, 2013, 12:10 PM

Anyone know where to get a typing certificate to include with a job application? The Wake Center used to do this, but they told me they don't have this service any longer. Thanks

I got them through employment agencies, but of course was also looking for work through the same. Maybe they'll do it for a small fee? There are yellow page referrals if you google "typing certificate santa barbara" and it can be done online, but you'd have to know if that would be acceptable.

They should be able to tell if you're their type. :)

I'm pretty sure that some time ago, Santa Barbara Business College offered typing certification, even for non-SBBC students. Not sure if they still do, but you might ask.

The Wake Center offers typing tests Monday through Thursday. Call for hours.

SBCC and SBBC no longer offer them, and most employment agencies do not offer them (other than for internal tests) either.

Some places will let you take tests online. I applied for a job in education recently, and HR gave me the names of three online tests (two cost a minimal amount, the third was free). I took those in the comfort of my own home and with a computer I am familiar with.
