Bates Beach Host

Does anyone know what happened to the park host that was living in the Bates Beach parking area? I was just down there and his trailer and all his belongings are gone. Is a new host taking over or are they ending the program? The area has been a lot cleaner and there has been noticeably less sketchy activity in the parking lot and surrounding bushes since he has been there.

Maybe he's just moved on to another corner of the world to bring joy and order out the chaos and muck. I don't believe hosts are paid but are volunteers looking for a place to park their RV for a few months before they move on to another park.

He was ready to move on and rented an apartment . S.B. Co.Parks has a strange rule that park hosts can only occupy their spot for 18 months max. , then must move along. Unfortunately , there is considerable debris and accumulated junk left behind by the host that is shielded from view by the screen fences . Parks needs to get in there and clean that stuff up. Looks like a junkyard.

Lou didn't leave the mess...he was the best host, a couple years back, not-a-local.
