Scanner Reports 3-4-13
updated: Mar 04, 2013, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Monday-Monday, I hope ya'll had a lovely weekend even the Dirt Bag that's been stealing my Sunday LA Times enjoy it while you can Dirt Bag, because when I catch you, your proctologist won't even be able to pull it out. What a pain getting up at 6am and finding the paper gone two weeks in a row it's a good thing my neighbor gets one. They say theirs got ripped off too.

Someone saw the write up that my friend Sharon Byrne did in the Sentinel about cleaning up the Encampments behind 211 South Milpas and they wrote me a little comment about "Sleeping with the enemy." I don't consider Sharon Byrne my enemy I consider her my friend. We might have differences of opinions on some things but we both care about Santa Barbara. I'll say one thing for Sharon Byrne she goes way beyond her position at the Milpas Community Association for this city. I wish I had half the amount of determination she has. We got our differences but there comes a time when people gotta look beyond their differences for the good of the city. Some of the stuff going on out there ain't no good. It don't bother me if one or two people are hiding in the bushes to get shut eye, but when there's a group of bullying thugs intimidating people out of their serenity they gotta go. I did the right thing by contacting Sharon and the Milpas Community Association. I didn't go out there with a baseball bat or my wrist rocket and do the wrong thing. I reported these people for disturbing the peace, vandalism of the fence, littering, among other things I guess that makes me a snitch now. Cool I got no problem being called names.

I couldn't see the full encampment from my side it sounds like most of it was closer to Tina's Nails I saw a picture of it and read there were open bags of bread laying around and a bucket filled with poop. It seems to me that there are those who want hand outs and in exchange, they are just going to poop and pee all over the place and leave a mess. I don't like having to clean up after other people who have no respect for the land. I don't like seeing our police officers out there cleaning up after slobs either but they do it for the good of the city. I'd like to thank all the people who volunteer their time and clean up these encampments. If campers would clean up after themselves and bury their poop our police officers could spend more time solving crimes, or eating donuts, or other important things they have to do.

It was good to see WoJo out there. The first time I ever saw him he had a full head of hair he was checking doors in the 400 Block of State Street. I was riding shotgun in a Nissan pickup truck going by and I yelled "Look at that big Copper!" He looked and I ducked. Being 6'6 and over 300 pounds does not have its advantages when you're trying to duck down under the front seat of a tiny Nissan pickup truck. Whenever I was in the drunk tank at County Jail he'd knock on the glass and wave at me smiling. I hated that, it was funny but I really hated county jail. WoJo is one of the Coppers that give SBPD a good name.

I did a lot of walking this weekend running around paying bills I think I must have lost 5 pounds. I found a brand new pair of shoes in a thrift store size 14 perfect for my flat feet 20 bucks great deal put at least 10 miles on ‘em. I'm really tired now. Earlier I went over to Pet Co and lost my walking cane I was really bummed about it because it's hard to keep my balance when my feet get tired and sometimes I fall down. I thought it was gone for sure, that someone had picked it up and I was going to have to go out and buy another tall-fat man cane they are quite expensive. My insurance covers one like every thousand years. I found it at Trader Joes. The Bomar Security guard found it and turned it in. Funny thing, I was pushing a Trader Joes cart coming back from my block so I would not fall and the same guard gave me Poo Poo for being in possession of the cart until I explained that I was looking for my cane. I guess my long hair made him think I was tramping. Anyway thanks to the Bomar guard for being honest and saving this snitch 40 bucks!

Hair is THY BLESSED Scanner Roni reports, FRYday:

  • Report of a group of people screaming obscenities in front of Skin Deep in the 3400 Block of State Street. Skin Deep. I had a job interview there once and one of my friends mickey'd me a hit of LSD before I went. I was waiting for the interviewer to show up and the walls started melting in front of me. Every time people spoke to me their voices sounded like Scooby Doo, it was a real trip. I remember being walked out of there to a waiting Black and White cab but the driver was out of the cab and speaking to someone else a few feet away. I was able to float away without being seen until later.

This started at Brandon School can't say exactly where it ended but the SO caught up with them and pulled them over. I don't know how it all turned out.
