Child's Birthday Party Rentals
updated: Mar 02, 2013, 6:19 PM
Can some of you good folks recommend a place to rent fun items such as
a bouncy house, face painter, maybe some games, plus tables and chairs
for a 4-year-old birthday party?
There seem to be many rental places, and i'd like some help narrowing it
down. It's the first kid's party i've ever thrown.....steeeeeep learning curve.
thanks!

We reserved space at Elings park - err,.. whatever the park by Costco is,.. we reserved a space by the playground equipment area. We also rented a bouncy house (just-4-fun bouncy house). Bought cupcakes, fruit, water and juice from Costco - invited my sons entire preschool, most kids showed up - all for under $300. Our time was 12:30 to 3:30pm Which is a subtle suggestion it's dessert rather than lunch. It was such fun, we're doing it again this year.

For reservations you contact the Girsh Park Foundation girshpark.org or you can reserve at Stow Grove Park, two areas are bounce house friendly, (for Stow Grove you call City of Goleta). I recommend Luna's Jumps. Also I have found best deals for party favors items at either Michaels dollar bins or Amazon.

Call Nancy Earle for face painting. She's a great artist and she's so awesome with kids. I've seen her work at the Avo Fest and the Alisol Guest Ranch and the kids love her. Her # is 252-0562.

Don't fear the party - your kid will love it and you will do great ! Kids don't need half of all the sha-na-na of face paints pony rides etc.. Though they're totally fun. Don't worry about not doing enough. Choose a park (most require reservations) and chose a space with a tree (shade and pinata) bring a few kid type outdoor games, cupcakes, and bottled water and juice, don't forget the pinata! Keep track of time, first 45 min is play, then whack the pinata, more play then about 30 minutes after celebrate with happy birthday cupcakes for everybody, then more play - at your leisure begin clean up. We always bring party favors for the kids, a few adult beverages for parents, extra sun screen and extra things for folks to sit on other than the park picnic table. Usually runs under $200.(including park fee)
