US 101 LANE CLOSURES

Crews will install new permanent signage and close one lane on US 101.

When: Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8, 2013

Where/Time:

*Northbound US 101 from 7 p.m. to 6 .am.

*Southbound US 101 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

OTHER ON-GOING What: Caltrans will continue widening northbound and southbound US 101 and constructing the La Conchita Pedestrian Undercrossing and Bates Road in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

Where: Northbound and southbound US 101 from Mobil Pier Road to Bates Road in Ventura County.

What to expect:

Dates: Monday, March 4 to Friday, March 29, 2013

Hours: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Work:

Ventura County

New: Class 1 Bike Lane on SB US 101: Crews will begin clearing and grubbing to prepare the earth (dirt to drive steel piles for the foundation of the bike lane.

On-going:

US 101 Widening: crews will continue grading, pouring concrete, and installing drainage systems in the median from Mobile Pier Road to Tank Farm.

La Conchita Pedestrian Undercrossing: crews will pour concrete in the walls (form liners) and construct the walkway at the entrance of the undercrossing.

Santa Barbara County

New:

Bates Road Overcrossing: crews will install rebar and pour concrete on the bridge. Flaggers will be utilized when necessary.

US 101 Median: crews will continue pouring concrete on the barriers and installing drainage systems in median.

About the project

Caltrans is constructing a six-mile carpool lane in each direction , along US 101 from Mobil Pier Road in Ventura County to Casitas Pass Road in Santa Barbara County.

Additional improvements include: a pedestrian undercrossing in La Conchita, concrete barriers, southbound bike lane, median landscaping, reconstruction of existing drainage, closing existing median openings and installing Intelligent Transportation Systems.
