Rental Space
updated: Mar 01, 2013, 1:21 PM

I was wondering if there is any facility I can rent downtown for a wine tasting one night event and what the cost would be?

Are you looking to rent a wine tasting room or are you looking to rent a venue where you can bring your own wine in?

My company rented out Studio 240 as a venue at the end of January and it was fantasic.

I think you can rent Oreana. If you're looking for a non-wine tasting room to rent out, I'm sure how easy that'll be - they'd still need to have alcohol permits & probably other legal stuff to worry about. Renting a tasting room sounds like it'd be an easy way to go. I've been to the Brawlin' Betties holiday party at Oreana before and it was great. It's a fun place.

Cap N Corks - I looked at most of the places down in the funk zone to rent and that is what i thought was the best deal.

Municipal Winemakers in the Funk Zone has a small room to rent/reserve. Not sure about the whole place.

I have been to some good wine tastings at Soho. I know they sometimes close for a private event.

The arts and letters cafe is closed for dinner. Great patio, and they have a liquor licence.

I second Arts and Letters Cafe. I think Olio Limone also has a side room.

Try the yacht club. Low facilities fees and great location right on the beach!

The people at Oreana know how to throw a party. 962-5857

Also, across the street, SB Winery has a nice barrel room they use for private parties. 963-3633

Call Santa Barbara Club and ask about their rates. It's a private social club in a very cool old building downtown, corner of Figueroa & Chapala. I think that you can book the club for private events.

The Wine Cask has a beautiful tasting room that can be rented for a private tasting event.

Contact Tom Reed at the Unity Shoppe and see if they would rent out a section of their building at Chapala and Sola Street (the old Magellan's retail store). It would be a great way to support this hard-working charity and the space would be perfect for a wine-tasting event.

I second the Loft. It's a hidden treasure and they offer great food service to compliment your wine tasting. Call Al at 805-669-8733, he also owns Alcazar, Milk and Honey and the Bourbon Room.
