Arrest just occurred on Micheltorena and Anacapa Street by undercover SBPD and SB Sheriff's Dept. arrived
on scene shortly after. Latino male driving a gray vehicle was ordered to pull over and get on ground. It
was a rush, rush, all happened in a matter of 5-7 mins. Anyone have any further info?

I was at my accountant's office sitting by the window. I looked up as I heard a cop car with siren heading fast down Anacapa at Micheltorena. One second later, two plain cars pulled up at intersection of Micheltorena and Anacapa. Three plainclothes (cops?) rushed out of back car up to front car, guns pulled and aimed and yelling on driver side at driver and also on passenger side. They got male hispanic passenger on ground face down across gutter, handcuffed. Got driver out, handcuffed and put him in backseat of undercover car. Sheriff arrived with sirens. The two males were whisked away in separate cars down Anacapa.

OP.... it's called a felony stop. Occupants of a vehicle are suspected in connection with felony crimes and are taken into custody swiftly due to the danger such events pose to passersby should any of the suspects turn desperado.

"Whoever it was, that's 2 less scumbags on our streets". What kind of pro-police, ignorant crap is that? I suppose it's a common sentiment among cowardly xenophobes but could it come off any more ignorant? Do you know these people? Does the mere fact of an arrest prove anything? Do you know if they weren't returned to the streets instantly? Go ahead. I gotta read this.

072 - I agree that the comment about "scumbags" jumped to judgement too quickly but, on the other hand, there's nothing wrong with being pro-police. Are you anti-police? I think PD has their hands full these days with the gangs and freshly-released criminals in our city. Not to mention that in the court of public opinion, they can't ever seem to do the right thing. Damned if they do and don't...

If they were arrested, they must have done something wrong. I walk freely down the street because I haven't committed any crimes. So yeah, 2 less scumbags..... And let the floodgates open!
