There is, but is there any reason to suspect this young man or his killers had anything to do with the sober living house? Am I missing something? RIP. Poor guy. What a short life.

267 I would assume the previous poster was asking because the article said the victim wasn't known to frequent Santa Barbara.

That is a DMV photo - look at the background. SBPD booking photos have a much lighter shade. But who cares? This poor young man was cut down in the prime of his life by some lowlife scumbags and his family will be devastated forever! RIP

My gosh people, have a conversation and try to aim for facts and being non-judgmental when people ask questions! We're all trying to figure out the cause of a needless death; being the critique police when we don't like someone's post or asserting something as fact when it is really a guess is not helpful.

309 - wow. Kind of harsh, huh? And why on earth would you feel safer? There was a murder and then 2 stabbings all within a week in SB (not to mention the robberies). All 3 of these violent, vicious crimes have gone on without any arrests made! That's at least 3 armed and dangerous criminals running around town right now. I, for one, fell FAR less safe in my hometown than I ever did before.

WOW, what sad and uncaring remarks by most of the posters. Have you folks zero empathy for the family and friends of this person? Keep in mind, this HAS happened in our back yard. Our community. No one is safe and everyone better start figuring out how to become more involved in our community to try and help out at local organizations like the Boys and Girls clubs.. How can YOU make a difference instead of sitting back, feeling smug since it was not you or your kid.. Wake up people.

When I saw a picture of the this young guy getting loaded into the ambulence, he was wearing black king loop low cut converse, which is very popular with gang members. I have feeling it's gang related, and when those guys who shot him start talking and showing off about who they killed, they will be found. Only a matter of time everyone.

Not everyone who wears what is considered gang attire are gang members.

Weird, every one I know, including my boyfriend's mom wears chucks. None of us are gangsters.....not even close. Why doesn't everyone focus on whats important, finding the person/people who did this. White, black, brown, gangster, not gangster this kid was murdered, and the person who pulled the trigger is still out there.

regardless of circustances behind this tragic action, someoe has lost their life, parents lost a child sibling lost a brother, family and friends are grieving. i have lost 2 nephews due to being shot one which is unsolved but yes had trouble in the past, but at the time they were killed they were in school, clean and sober, but no one can understand what kind of person can take anothers life.. not realizing that when caught they themselves have lost theirs.. so why cant people stop being judgmental and stop all the mean comments. because one day you may lose someone in a way that shouldve not happened.. prayers to the family of the victim and for the family/families of the person that did this awful act..

466 - WHO CARES?! This young man was murdered! So what if he was in a gang or not? He was shot to death in our town, on our streets, where our children play. Let's focus on finding the killers, not determining whether he was in a gang because of his shoes or candy preference!

Yes, it was tragic that he was killed, especially on our streets. But as the question of his gang affiliation, one trip to the photos section of his Facebook page, replete with his gang tattoos and gang signs, will confirm that he was an active gangbanger.

Someone said he was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk maybe he had words with those guys over that and they shot him. Oh by the way I wear a Chicago White Sox ball cap during baseball season, a Chicago Bears ball cap during football season a Notre Dame "Fighting Irish" hoodie most mornings and my pants usually slide down exposing my crack I must be in a gang too!

either way- this was NOT a "fair fight" even by gang standards. He was UNARMED RIDING A BICYCLE for G-d's sake. Cowardly shooters.
